Chunker Profiles/
   **************
1. minimalist chunking:
  - seeks only very specific chunks
("i only collect skull chunks," for example)
- usually for collection-based chunking
2. general chunking:
  - mostly pursued as leisure activity
(e.g., "i must have this postcard!")
- generally part-time or novice chunking
- usually not collection-based
3. extreme chunking:
  - strictly archive-development chunking
("i need 2 folders of images by midnight!")
- 'anything-goes' chunking : strictly business
- typically yields quantity rather than quality
4. sport chunking (big-game chunking):
  - hunting chunks for the thrill of it all
  ("c'mon, scott -- they won't catch us!")
- often, great risk means great reward
- results in "trophy" chunk collection
*Perishable - comments on the art of chunking:

"We [DLa] have been collecting odd chunks of graphic design -- bizarre snippets of propaganda -- since high school. The process has evolved from occasionally clipping skulls from magazines to a well-defined art of perpetual scanning for inspiring visual nuggets, which are then collected, pimped, and archived. Sweet chunks might get scanned and manipulated in Photoshop 7, carved and collaged, or simply collected for their own sake. Over the years, organization of chunks has become essential. I am constantly pouring over the collection, scanning gems, and deleting chaff. To others, these chunks may be quite meaningless, but to me, each one uniquely conveys distinct personal experience -- representing ideas, inspirations, and memories..."

*88Teeth - comments on the art of chunking:

"...Chunks collected correlate to the interests of the chunker -- as [Perishable] is drawn to complex patterns, [Kalacakra] to gothic, and myself to ironic/humorous chunks. Aside from a general theme that the interest gravitates toward, we all collect outside of this broad categorization as well."
"...Other than inspiration, there is a social aspect to the process -- sharing the chunk with other interested parties, and generating stimulating, creative thought. Chunks tend to be very varied in appearance and rich in texture or bold in design or idea, which probably stimulates personal creative processes also..."
