Given that
creativity revolves cyclically around inspiration, expression, and consumption, direction and focus
determine developing artistic complexity, diversity and depth. Objectively singular material continuously
recycled through creative processes yields evolved depth at the expense of diversity and complexity.
Conversely, methodically exploring multiple
objectives1 cyclically creates artistic
diversity and complexity while sacrificing immense depth. However, this argument holds true only for a
disproportionate2 time distribution. Normalizing time investment
over both artistic approaches provides depth to the latter, but neither complexity nor diversity to the
former. Obviously, optimizing creativity requires embracing multiple artistic objectives, assuming
sincere ambition, motivation, determination and dedication. Of course.
The present argument functions on two levels: media and focus. Procedural multiplicity in focus
remains difficult when approached spontaneously, yet fruitful when structured according to specific
creative goals3.
Infinite combinations of parallel contemplations and serial diversions become the fundamental
subjective experience of artistic existence, and are therefore intrinsically essential to the
present discussion. Thus, without some creative focus, whether singular4,
multiple, or otherwise, procedural multiplicity in media ceases to exist.

The converse also holds true, focus without expression via action fails as art.
Even so, whereas any given artist may not control the natural creative inspirations navigating their
artistic focus, the enlightened artist embraces a multiplicity of media and
methodically5 sharpens a diverse set of artistic skills.
Yeah, right.
Given any set, singular or otherwise, of creative material on which to focus, the inspired artist
interacts subjectively6, realizes purpose, and proceeds to physically express
the experience via some artistic medium. Here lies the importance of a multimedia strategy: the successful
artist will experience the creative process from a variety of expressive perspectives. It is from within
this diversity of contemplation that the artist develops and employs understanding and complexity in the
execution of creative endeavours. Further, such understanding ultimately provides unique insight through
subconscious meditative dialogue concerning inter-media associations7. Drawing,
then, from a seasoned arsenal of expressive possibilities, the inspired artist inherently operates via
greater diversity and complexity than those obeying a singular media approach.
